I am a seasoned freelance writer covering food, new business, and arts and entertainment in the greater New York City area. Currently writing for the likes of Gothamist, amNewYork, and BORO Magazine, I specialize in shaping stories about local businesses and am a food fanatic–you can see my “Millennial Meal” tips here. I come from a PR background, most recently serving as a Senior Account Executive at King + Company, a boutique PR agency specializing in nonprofit and healthcare clients. I also worked in book publishing in the publicity department of St. Martin’s Press, where I supported bestselling book campaigns, grew the social media following by 70 percent, and continuously secured noteworthy press for even small circulation books.
My internship experience also spanned journalism, PR and publishing, as I was lucky enough to work in the publicity department of Scholastic, Inc., at the lifestyle PR firm Coburn Communication, and function as a staff reporter at the Times/Review Newsgroup on the East End of Long Island. I also served as the Managing and Features Editor at my Manhattan College newspaper, The Quadrangle and as the President of our PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) chapter on campus.
I am originally from the North Fork of Long Island, boasting small beach towns which New York City was a welcome change from. In my spare time I adore reading great books, experimenting in the kitchen and trying my hand at creative writing.
“It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.” –Leonardo da Vinci
